Model Index Card Match Berbantuan Magic Box pada Pembelajaran Matematika Dasar

This study aims to improve students’ motivation and mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of the Index Card Match model assisted by Magic Box media in grade V at SDIT Andalusia Muara Bungo. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings with stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 27 fifth-grade students, comprising 14 boys and 13 girls. Data were collected through teacher observation, student observation, motivation questionnaires, and learning achievement tests. The findings revealed significant improvements in all measured aspects. Teacher activity increased from 73% (good category) in cycle I to 88.40% (very good category) in cycle II. Student activity rose from 62.90% (fair category) to 85.10% (good category). Student motivation also improved from 67.70% (good category) to 86.90% (very good category). Furthermore, students’ learning outcomes increased from an average score of 67.70 with 66.60% mastery in cycle I to an average score of 82.50 with 92.50% mastery in cycle II. Therefore, the application of the Index Card Match model assisted by Magic Box media is proven effective in enhancing students’ motivation and mathematics learning outcomes in elementary school.
