Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning process and outcomes of mathematics students through the application of a jigsaw cooperative learning model assisted by Wordwall media. This study is classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 18 third-grade students at SD Negeri 15/II Candi, Tanah Sepenggal District, Bungo Regency, consisting of 6 boys and 12 girls. Data were collected through observation of teacher and student activities and learning outcome tests, then analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed a significant improvement in both the learning process and outcomes of the students. In terms of the process, student activity increased from 50% in the first meeting of cycle I, 66.7% in the second meeting, to 77.8% in the first meeting of cycle II, and reached 94.4% in the second meeting. Teacher activity also increased from 60% in the first meeting of cycle I, 75% in the second meeting, to 80% in the first meeting of cycle II, and 95% in the second meeting. In terms of learning outcomes, classical mastery increased from 6 students mastering the material in the pre-intervention phase to 9 students mastering the material (50%) in cycle I, and increased significantly to 17 students mastering the material (94.4%) in cycle II. Thus, the application of the jigsaw cooperative model assisted by Wordwall media proved to be effective in improving the learning process and learning outcomes of third-grade students at SD Negeri 15/II Candi. This model was able to create an active, collaborative, and enjoyable learning atmosphere, making it an alternative strategy for teaching mathematics in elementary schools.
