Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 025/II Muara Bungo. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 19 students, including 11 males and 8 females. Data were collected through teacher observations, student achievement tests, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques. The findings reveal an improvement in the quality of teaching performance, with teacher observation scores increasing from 73.30% (fair) in cycle I to 86.60% (very good) in cycle II. Student achievement also improved, with the average score rising from 42.10% (poor) in the pre-cycle to 73.60% (fair) in cycle I, and reaching 89.40% (very good) in cycle II, with an n-Gain of 0.817 (high). These results demonstrate that the PjBL model is effective in enhancing IPAS learning outcomes, while also fostering students’ activeness, motivation, and collaborative skills.
