Peningkatan Proses dan Hasil Belajar Matematika Menggunakan Model Kooperatif Tipe Snowball Throwing

This study was motivated by the low level of active participation among students and mathematics learning outcomes that have not yet reached the Minimum Passing Criteria (KKM). The purpose of this study was to improve the process and outcomes of mathematics learning through the application of the Snowball Throwing cooperative learning model. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 21 third-grade students at SD Negeri 192/II Sungai Buluh in the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Research data were obtained through teacher observations, student observations, and learning outcome tests. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The research results showed improvements in both the learning process and outcomes. Teacher observations increased from 73.43% in Cycle I (good category) to 84.37% in Cycle II (very good category). Student activity also increased from 66.67% in Cycle I (good category) to 85.72% in Cycle II (very good category). Meanwhile, student learning outcomes improved from 66.67% in Cycle I to 85.72% in Cycle II, with an increase of 19.05%. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Snowball Throwing cooperative learning model can improve the learning process and outcomes of mathematics students. This model is suitable for use as an alternative learning strategy that emphasizes the active involvement of students in understanding mathematical concepts in a more meaningful way.
