Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Matematika Menggunakan Model Kooperatif Tipe Number Head Together

This study was motivated by the low Mathematics learning outcomes of third-grade students at SDN 88/II Sungai Mengkuang, where many had not yet achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKTP). This condition required the implementation of a learning strategy that could improve student achievement. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model Numbered Head Together (NHT) in improving Mathematics learning outcomes. The research employed a classroom action research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 26 third-grade students of SDN 88/II Sungai Mengkuang. Data were collected using observation sheets and learning achievement tests, analyzed through both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The findings revealed that the NHT model successfully enhanced student engagement and learning outcomes. Teacher observation scores improved from 77.7% (Good) in cycle I to 88.8% (Very Good) in cycle II. Student activity increased from 65.3% (Fair) to 88.4% (Very Good). Student learning mastery also improved from 65.3% (Not Achieved) in cycle I to 88.4% (Achieved) in cycle II. The implication is that the NHT model can serve as an effective alternative strategy to address low learning outcomes while fostering active student participation in Mathematics learning.
