Pendidikan Seni Rupa dalam Konteks Pembentukan Identitas Budaya Kaum Remaja di Era Media Sosial-Digital

The rapid development of social media has influenced the way adolescents shape and express their cultural identities through visual art. This study aims to explore visual art education in the context of adolescent cultural identity formation in the social media era. This study uses a phenomenological approach to explore the subjective experiences of high school students as representatives of adolescents. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with students and analyzed thematically. The results show that social media functions as a space for expression and social validation, strengthening adolescents' visual-cultural identities, although it also places pressure on local cultural authenticity. Visual art education needs to adopt a more contextual and reflective approach, integrating visual culture into visual art learning to strengthen adolescents' visual-cultural identities. Visual art teachers in high school need to facilitate critical discussions about popular culture and social media, and guide students in navigating personal expression and cultural awareness.
