UPAYA MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI DAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN MELALUI PROGRAM GERAKAN LITERASI SEKOLAH DENGAN BANTUAN PERPUSTAKAAN KELILING

Motivation and reading comprehension skills are two important elements that support the academic success of elementary school students, especially in the context of reading comprehension in Indonesian language subjects. This study investigates the implementation of mobile library assistance as an effort to improve these two elements. Therefore, this study aims to describe the steps in implementing mobile library assistance in the school literacy movement program, as well as the results of the implementation of mobile library assistance in improving their motivation and reading comprehension skills. The main reason for conducting this research is because of low motivation and reading comprehension skills and is supported by the urgency of motivation and reading comprehension skills themselves in the context of Indonesian language subjects. This thesis is a classroom action research that is in line with the research objectives described previously. Based on the results of data analysis, there is an increase in student reading motivation in each cycle. The results of observations of student reading motivation in the initial condition are included in the poor category with the percentage of students who achieve the minimum target of 39.28%. In the first cycle it increased to 53.57% with the sufficient category, in the second cycle it increased to 85.71% with the good category. Likewise for student reading comprehension skills. In the initial conditions, the number of students who completed the program was only 9 people with a percentage of 32.14%. In the first cycle, the number of students who completed the program increased to 13 people with a percentage of 46.42%. The number of students who completed the program in the second cycle increased again to 24 people with a percentage of 85.71%. There were 4 students who did not experience significant improvement due to internal problems of the students' families. The main conclusion of this study focuses on the potential use of mobile library assistance in the literacy movement program in an effort to increase students' motivation and reading comprehension skills.
